Finally-We received an appointment date. After much praying, paperwork, and frustration, we were notified that we have an appointment with the SDA on Tuesday, March 11th. Over the Christmas break, Jerry and I were able to book our plane tickets and get our travel itinerary ready to go. We will be leaving on March 8th from the Birmingham airport and arrive in Kiev, Ukraine via Atlanta and JFK.
Excitement and nervousness has finally set in. Jerry keeps reminding me that this is the "Super Bowl" that we have waited so long to be a part of. We have everything for the children packed and all we need to do is pack our clothes. We have two wonderful young women that will be house sitting for us. I hope Sunny the cat handles all of this alright. We are working diligently to get everything ready at work. We know that it is going to be hard on the people that we work with as they continue to do all things that we normally do, with one less person. We can never thank them enough for their sacrifice that allows us to complete this amazing journey.
There are several families in our community that are also pursuing Ukrainian adoptions. We continue to pray for them that their process will move forward quickly.
More to come shortly!!

May the road you travel in March be paved with one blessing after another. I will be praying that all of you bond instantly and everything goes smoothly. I'm so excited for your journey! Your life will forever be changed! Congratulations and much love! D
Hey Amanda! I just wanted to let you know how wonderful you both are and I know you are both excited. God is a wonderful God and always showes us our ways, we just have to open our eyes and hearts to what HE has planned, not us!! Good luck to you both. I know you both will become wonderful parents!

Hey Sis,
Thought I would practice by blogging. Dad and I are very excited about becoming grandparents in approx. 40 days. We still have not thought of a name for Dad but I am pretty set on "Honey". Wishing for the days to pass quickly,
Love,
