Bringing a Slice of Ukraine to You!

Jerry and took yesterday (the coldest day since we have been here) at went sightseeing aound Ukraine. We set out on foot and walked down one of the main streets. Some of our favorite sights were The Golden Gate and St. Sophia's Cathedral. We also saw St. Mathew's Cathedral from a distance. We are going back to see it another day. Just a few facts:

The Golden Gate was built in the 11th century and was the triumphant entrance to Kiev. It was excavated and restored to the structure that we see now.

St. Sophia's hosts the largest set of mosaics in the world. You can still see the original frescos on the walls, while some have been restored. It is also the host to Yaroslav the Wise's sarcophagus. We were not allowed to take pictures of the inside but it is by far the oldest and one of the most amazing things we have ever seen. This cathedral was built in the 11th century and has withstood the raids of the many different countries and groups, as well as the World Wars and the Russion Civil War. Different groups have done much damage to the origianl structure but no one dared distroy it. Really amaizing!

Today is our anniversary and we are spending it Urkaininan style-in the coffee shop!! We set out to walk here and the snow had begun to fall and everything was beautifully white!!

We are still waiting to here about an appointment. Waiting patiently. . . God's time is perfect!

Thank you again for the posts! It is our favorite part of our day!

Love to you all!
J and A

Thank you so much for the telephone calls. It really made your Dad feel better to hear you voice.I love the pictures. Kiev looks like a beautiful city. How is the second "Honeymoon" going? I love the picture of ya'll smiling. Everything is going well. Kea is coming up this weekend so we can do alittle shopping for Easter. It's really Spring like over here (beautiful one day and rainy the next). Deidra called last night to check up on ya'll and I filled her in on all the information. She is in the process of setting up SKYPE so she can talk to you. How does Jerry like the Animal Planet and CNN-London? Send me your address and I will mail ya'll a care package by "Speedy Delivery"; I know there are a few things ya'll probably need. Lee-Lee will probably blog you today and give you an update on his housing situation. Kea is in New Orleans but will return tonight.
Enjoy the sightseeing and Keep each other warm.
Our prayers are for the paper work to move swiftly and your appointment to be soon.
Love to you both.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Who gets to spend it in a foreign country and especially one as beautiful as Ukraine. WOW!! The pictures were wonderful. Thanks. I'm so glad to sense that you are o.k. and dealing with the disappointments well. I pray that your next appointment will be soon and everything will go swiftly. It's always so exciting to see a new Blog. It just makes my day. I love you. Keep your spirits up. God is going to have the last say and get the Glory for it.
Enjoy your 'vacation' and your
'2nd Honeymoon.'

jwow - how romantic! You all are very patient, and I really admire your faith.
Spring Break has been nice here in B'ham - very relaxing - I dread facing those seniors and senioritis when I return to SP!
We are praying for you and know that God has a special plan for you and some kiddos.
Take care - Jill

Coach Hood,
How are you? I’m doing great, I am home For Easter, and thought about you. We just finished our third week of spring football; one more left (Thank God) I’m doing pretty well. I am flopping back and forward with 1 and 2. I’m so excited for you and Mrs. Hood, I pray every day and cannot wait to meet the kids God Bless you with. Oh yea and by the way you have to bring those pants back and show me how they look on you in person. (LOL). Grades are still good too.

Mrs. Hood,
Hey I didn’t forget about my girl Mrs. Hood! I bet you are so excited and it was great to see you stayed calm! I was proud of you. As I told Coach, My grades are still great and everything is going well. I love you both and God Bless can’t wait to read more good news! DJ Looney

Have a Blessed Easter. The empty tomb lets us all know it has been taken care of.
Remember those 70 degree days I was bragging about, well it's 33 this morning in the Mississippi Delta.
I love you both and am praying daily, almost constantly it seems, for our time to match His; for you to meet your children.

Jerry and Amanda,

As anyone who knows me can tell you,I am "computer challenged," so I have been trying to send you a message since I first began checking the blog. Let's hope I succeed this time.

I have love following your journey. The first thing I do when I get home from school is check on your progress. Since we have been out for a week, this is my first opportunity to check in.

Happy Easter and Happy Anniversary.

I say a prayer each day for your success in your journey. You are two special people who deserve the best. A child would be very lucky to call you Mom and Dad.

Jerry, how about my dawgs! I am sitting here waiting for the game against Memphis to begin. Yes, I am very nervous! I love my dawgs-no matter what. (Bet you knew that!)

We'll keep praying and checking for your progress.
