Hello from snowy Kiev!
At any point in time, it can rain, snow, or shine. It is very weird! Last night, I was reading and Jerry was doing something (I can't remember what) and our power went out. It was a real black out!! The power on our entire street went out for about 45 minutes. Luckily, we had a flashlight, but it was still creepy. Fotunately, the lights came back on so we could continue with our nightly routine.
We visited the Patriotic War Museum yesterday and we have posted a few of the pictures. Before coming to Ukraine, I knew very little about their history. This country has been at the center of some of the most horrific events you can imagine. During WWII, Ukraine was ravaged by the German army and served as a major battle ground for conflicts between Germany and Russia (Stalin and Hitler). During the earlier 1930's, collectivization farming was imposed here. The results were a dramatic famine that destroyed many families. The kids could learn so much here! Mrs. H, Coach H, Mr., W, and Coach C- I thought about ya'll the whole time. You would have loved the museum.
Hope you enjoy the pictures!!
Amanda

Love the new pics. Sounds very interesting! It is great that you guys will have so much knowledge about the Ukraine to share with the children when you return. Nothing new happening here...the mover is bringing the packing materials today so looks like we will be busy packing for the next two weeks. Hope you get some pretty weather over there soon. It is supposed to reach almost 80 degrees here today and tomorrow. We miss you! Kea and Lee
I have just figured out this blogging thing. Glad to hear that all is well. Jerry, watch out Amanda is a history nut!!! She will have you running around the entire country digging up every little bit of history she can find. Everything is going good here, except I am not getting to do very much turkey hunting. Kea keeps telling that I need to get my priorities staight. HA HA I saw Carolyn Jones the other day and she told me to tell you that she has been praying for ya'll. It is amazing how many people ask about how ya'll are doing and say that they have been praying for ya'll. Ya'll are really blessed.
Take care. Talk to you soon.
Lee
P.S. You've got to love those TGI Friday's!! Shake and Bake!!!
Hey,
About what I mentioned to you on Skype....Mrs Ripp had misunderstood Mr B about who it was. So I was passing misinformation. Sorry about that.
I can't figure out this blog stuff . . . War Museum sounded great . . . we just finished discussing the stuff you were talking about . . . been keeping up with the blog . . . my thoughts and prayers are with you!!!

O. K. by now everyone should know that you were a"History Major". I know you have really enjoyed all the sight seeing. Jerry, I'm sure you have enjoyed in too. Ha Ha We have made 2 trips to the dump and 1to the Salvation Army, You would be proud of your parents even thought we are hardly speaking to each other at the moment. I found your big doll in the Moses Basket in the attic; right before your Daddy screamed that I was going to fall and kill myself. As you can see I have lived. Dad will not let me back up in the attic and I think he has about had enough for the day. He took his old blue chair and ottoman to the dump by himself so he could have some alone time before it bit the dust. What a chair? I was 28 years old and had been recovered 3 times..You know how much he loved it. I tell him I am making sacrifices too. I threw way all my ceramic projects from 18 years ago.
Well, gotta go. I'll be back at work tomorrow if you have a chance to call.
Love to you both,
Honey & Big Lee
Dave would love the museums. I would have gone though it twice before he got through half of it. Jesse & Dawson would play Power Rangers all the way through it.
We are packing tonight to go to B'ham. I hate that we won't get to see ya'll, but we should be back in Alabama for good in the summer. Dawson and I are flying up tomorrow night. Dave & Jesse are driving up on Sunday. Jesse is going to a Tae Kwan Do camp to test for his brown belt/black strip. The boys are growing like weeds and they both look like Opie.
My last day at work is tomorrow. I'm counting the hours. It's amazing how a job you love can go bad within a few short months. Oh well, live and learn. I'll still do some contracting with the company, financial analysis and spreadsheets, things that I actually like. I hope to have a few interviews while we are in B'ham. I'm working with a couple of recruiters so I should be able to find something pretty quickly. Our biggest concern right now about the move is selling our house! It's been on the market since January and no one has even looked at it. We keep telling ourselves - God has a plan....Sure would like to know what it is!!!
Dave and I are keeping you in our prayers. Talk to you soon.
Love, Amy Blount
Good evening, well early morning for you. Doing stuff on computer and watching basketball. Like Sharon said, a piece of us is missing with you guys over there. Praying specific, I believe our Father wants that.
I love you guys, talk to you soon.
